    HR Investigations

    Presented by Mike Toth

    Registration Now Open!

Organizations today face increasing challenges in handling workplace misconduct—whether harassment, discrimination, fraud, or behavioral concerns. This session will explore how to identify early warning signs, understand the legal and ethical responsibilities tied to investigations, and apply a structured, professional response that safeguards both workplace culture and organizational integrity. We’ll also discuss when it may be valuable to bring in an outside investigator for added neutrality.

Attendees will learn how to spot common forms of misconduct and recognize red flags early, gain clarity on legal obligations under laws such as Title VII and OSHA, and take away best practices for conducting fair and effective investigations. The session will be led by Mike Toth, a licensed private investigator and co-owner of Montana HR Investigations in Billings, MT. With over 20 years in law enforcement—including time as a Detective with the Seattle Police Department and Sheriff of Mineral County—Mike now works with businesses and public agencies across Montana to help resolve complex workplace issues.
