Noon– 1:00 p.m.: PRESENTATION
Presentation Description:
If "healthy" is a state....a number, a metric, a range...then there is only one approach to get healthy: reach that state. However, that's not what "healthy" is. Numbers and metrics are descriptions, but they are not the end-game when it comes to health and wellness. So, what is?
Please join our energetic, engaging speaker Dr. Nich Pertuit as he approaches this question from both a corporate wellness approach, and an individual health perspective. Other questions he will answer in this presentation are:
- What are the biggest barriers to helping others (and ourselves) change our health?
- How do we navigate these barriers in a cost-effective and time-effective manner?
- What role does "motivation" play in lasting changes?
- How do we help our employees...and families, and communities...without overwhelming ourselves and our departments?
- What are the best strategies for using incentives?
and more!
BIO of Presenter:
Dr. Nich Pertuit is the President and founder of Healthy Is Wellness. He specializes in Human Performance, and has been working in the teaching and performance realm for 15 years now. In 2011, Dr. Pertuit received his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Human Motivation from Texas Tech University. His Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees were both in Exercise Science, and he also holds the highest ranking of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Dr. Pertuit has spent his entire life focused on maximizing performance, and is on a never-ending quest to equip others with the tools they need to bring out their best in every task they take on. Sometimes that has been through teaching as professor, which he has done Rocky Mountain College, the University of Texas, and Montana State University-Billings; sometimes as a consultant, where he has worked with over fifteen university sports programs, including Stanford University, Cal Poly Pomona, the University of Texas, and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte; sometimes that was as a professional athlete, where he spent over six years in the highest level of indoor football; and now it is through helping empower others to become in control of their health and, therefore, their lives through his “Healthy Is” program.
